March 13, 1926 WINNETKA TALK NEW TRIER SETS NEW BASKETBALL RECORD Remarkable Achievement of North Shore Quintets Is Talk of Middle West Hats off to New Trier! New Trier High schooi's heavy and lightweight basketball squads, con- tenders for sectional honors in the tournament to be played this week-end at Joliet, have achieved the most re- markable record ever established in the Chicago Suburban league. Both teams carried off the championship in the Suburban league. In the District tournament, staged last week-end, New Trier's entry took first honors with comparative ease, thereby establishing still another record, since it was the first time in the history of the league that the team winning the league championship also took the district honors. What makes New Trier's record the more laudable is that the teams were almost entirely new at the outset of the season, only one man having been a hold-over from the previous year. Not a little of the glory for this un- precedented success of the north shore quintets attaches to the well known Coach W. L. "Duke" Childs, who is also generalissimo of all athletic ac. tivity at the school. Duke has turned out many winning combinations at New Trier, but this year's record gives him a tough target to shoot at in the future, since it is about as per- fect an accomplishment as one could expect. New Trier won the last seventeen games played, and lost only two games all season: The record to date is as follows : February 5--New Trier 25, Austin 16. February 12--New Trier 21, Lake View 15. December 26--New Trier 19, Hyde Park 20 (champions of Chicago). December 31--New Trier 18, Colum- bus, Ohio, 24 (winners 3 place Ohio State Champ. 1925 with every man back). ARE ENTITLED TO KNOW THE FACTS" DODGE BROTHERS, INC. ver a Cliff ini Quer BODY without injuring the DRIVER A careless driver. « « A triple somersault over a cliff. . . and this is the car--a Dodge Brothers all steel safety car. A triple somersault over a cliff with the car you see in this picture! Such was the experience of its owner, who came through the fall uninjured. After an hour of repair work, he drove the car from Montana to Minneapolis---a more sensible driver and much wiser. All steel construction saved his life, as it has saved many other lives in the past, and will save thousands more in the future...... Dodge Brothers print this advertisement because they believe motorists are en- titled to all steel safety and should insist upon it. That's why Dodge Brothers introduced all steel construction more than eleven years ago--and recently announced additional all steel safety features. The streets are swarming with 20,000,000 motor cars--millions moreare on the way. Safety is the issue. Armor yourself and your family with steel. Dodge Brothers Motor Cars--both open and closed--are all steel in the strictest sense of the term. Steel reinforced by steel --framed, braced and buttressed by steel--with all seams solidly and _per- manently welded together by electricity. Slim steel pillars replace the old bulky wooden corner posts--permitting unpar- alleled driving vision--a safety feature of the first importance. Compare such bodies with the usual wood, or wood-and-metal body, and you will be astonished that every automobile builder has not adopted this advanced safety construction. ; Remember, also, that safety is the watch- word of Dodge Brothers construction throughout, as witnessed by Dodge Brothers exceptionally large, quick-action brakes, and the exceptional ruggedness and dependability of Dodge Brothers axles, frames, steering parts, and other vital units.
