New Trier piled {up a total of 66 points, while Lane Tech., their closest rival, found it dif- ficult to collect 18. Maine township finished third with 17. It was mainly through the untiring efforts of Lawrence Davis, who swam to high point honors in the events, that the New Trier natators were able to pile up such an overwhelming score. Davis won firsts in both the 40 yard breast stroke and the 100 yard free style | events, and was a member of the vic- torious medley and 160 yard relay teams which gave him 1214 points. The points won in the tourney by each school were as follows: New Trier, 66; Lane Tech, 18; Maine town- ship, 17; Evanston, 7; Proviso, 1; Har- rison, 1; Morton, 0; Englewood, 0. Mrs. A. B. The victors were the Joliet five, playing on their home floor, to the cheering of 5,000 Joliet fans. The game was fast and hard-fought, and New Trier made two baskets which were not allowed, which otherwise would have given them the game. On the preceding evening they had defeated La Salle by a score of 33-17. The team would prob- ably have beaten Joliet had the game not been on the home floor, it is thought. Another factor which entered into the contest was the fact that sev- eral members of the Gray and Green quintet were suffering from severe colds. Organize Music Clubs in Elementary Schools Music students of New Trier High school are co-operating with music supervisors of the township in es- tablishing small music clubs, patterned after the New Trier Music club, in the grammar schools of the various villages in the township. Clubs are already established at Wilmette, Win- netka and Glencoe, and one will be organized in Kenilworth in the near future, it was said. The high school students hold examinations for those who wish to join the clubs and help with the organization. Much interest in-the movement is being displayed by the pupils of the grammar schools, it is said. Mrs. Melville C.
