March 20, 1926 WINNETKA TALK 39 313 Pupils Were On Skokie Cage Teams This Year The present week marks the close of an interesting season of basketball at Skokie school in which sensational sta- tistics reveal that there were a total of 36 teams and 313 individuals involved in the series of competitions. In the Boys' lightweight class there were 6 Skokie teams, 4 Community House and one North Shore Country Day school. In the Boys' heavy and middleweight class, Skokie had 8 teams and North Shore 2. In the Girls' lightweight class there were 7 Skokie teams and one from North Shore. In the Girls' middle- weight, Skokie had 5 teams and North Shore one. There was also one Skokie faculty team, making a total of 36 teams. Following is a lst of the Skokie teams, the number of games and the percentage of each: Girls' Mid-Weights Improvements Board to Study Street Widening The Winnetka Board of Local Im- provements will hold a public hearing Tuesday evening, March 30, at 8 o'clock to consider plans and estimates for wid- ening Wilson street and Winnetka ave- nue in the vicinity of the Indian Hill station. This matter was brought to the attention of the council some time | ago by the Indian Hill Improvement association which strongly recommend- | ed that the streets be widened, as it was felt that the present narrow streets create a dangerous condition. PLAN SOCIAL EVENING The Young Men's class of the Win- netka Congregational Church school is planning a social evening in the Neigh- borhood room of Community House, Thursday, March 25. etailed an- nouncement will be made in the class meeting Sunday at 10 o'clock.
