No action was taken at the meeting, the matter being held over un- til the next meeting of the village coun- cil, April 20. Special assessment pro- ceedings for this project have been in- stituted, following a request for the street widening by the Indian Hill Im- provement association. It was the con- tention of this body that the narrow pavement at the intersection of Wilson street and Winnetka avenue created a dangerous condition. Various opin- ions as to the wisdom of widening the streets were voiced at the meeting. It was suggested that property owners of the vicinity attempt to work out a suit- able plan. HOSTS AT DANCE James Hartmann, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Hartmann of 755 Lincoln avenue, and Graham Marks, son of Dr. and Mrs. David G. Marks of Wil- mette, were hosts to 125 of their friends at a dance at the North Shore hotel Friday evening.
