DAIRY COMPANY i1R / Christian Science Churches "Unreality" was the subject of the lesson sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, Sunday, April 4. The Golden Text was from I John 2:16, 17, "All that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever." Among the citations which com- prised the sermon was the following pertinent selection from the Bible: "I made me great works; I builded me houses; I planted me vineyards: I made me gardens and orchards, and [ planted trees in them of all kind of fruits: Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun" (Ecclesiastes 2:4, 5, 11). Also a corresponding passage from the Christian Science textbook, "Sci- ence and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy; "Let it be understood that success in error is defeat in Truth. To ascertain our progress, we must learn where our affections are placed and whom we ac- knowledge and obey as God. If divine Love is becoming nearer, dearer and more real to us, matter is then sub- mitting to Spirit" (p. 239). Voting Is Light in Annual Town Election Tuesday With a total vote of approximately 1470 ballots cast in the township elec- tion last Tuesday residents of New Trier elected to office the New Trier Community ticket, which had no op- position. The vote, according to vil- lages, was as follows: Wilmette, 286; Kenilworth, 24; Winnetka, 991; Glen- coe, 160; country district, 10. The vote this year was less than one half of the total last year, when approxi- mately 3,200 ballots were cast, town- ship officials explained. Then, also, the largest vote was cast in Winnetka, which had a total of 2,800 votes. Those | who were elected to office were as fol- lows: Township Supervisor--Gertrude M. Thurston, Winnetka; clerk--Margaret S. Pierson, Wilmette ; assessor, George R. Harbaugh, Wilmette; collector, San- born Hale, Winnetka; constable, Ja- cob Rudolph of Glencoe; constable to fill vacancy, Arthur McKay.
