ADDRESS MEETING Talks were made by Mrs. B. F. Langworthy, Mrs. Harold Ickes, Mrs J. W. Morrisson, sister of Mrs. Wil- liam B. Hale, and Mrs. William Gold Hibbard, at the annual mecting of PROPHECY COME TRUE Hadley Correspondence School Pupils Win Position as Life Insurance Salesmen By ALFRED ALLEN (Secretary, Hadley Correspondence School for the Blind) A short time ago we promised our patrons that in a few weeks, some of the students of the Hadley Cor- respondence School for the Blind would be selling life insurance. Our prophecy has been fulfilled sooner than was ex- pected. Already, one young man, aged 23, who has completed our course, has been signed as an agent of The New York Life Insurance company, and has be- gun his labors. So our patrons will feel justly proud to be a part of this work. What a great blessing it is to the blind can never be fully appreciated by those who are helping the blind to win their way back to a proper place in the com- | New floors fin- . ished. The meeting was attended by 250 mem- bers. SWEEPER ARRIVES TODAY Winnetka's new motor-driven street sweeping machine is expected to ar- rive today, according to a statement issued by Village Manager H. L. Woolhiser this week. It is planned to start with the spring clean-up of streets next Monday, and all streets in the village will be thorouhly gone over by the new machine, it was said. Mrs. James P. Fleming of 760 Fox- dale avenue is expected to return to her home the last of next week from Bermuda where she has been for about two weeks. those who care to call at our offices. But our patrons must feel that to bring a blind man back into the active world, where he can stand side by side with his fellow men, compete with them, and serve them, is indeed ample re- ward for their own efforts to accom- plish this re-creation of a man's use- fulness. Others will soonn be placed, we be- lieve, some who have sat back in dark- ness and inactivity for twenty-five vears, and all of whom are eager to make for themselves a small place in a busy world. Mrs. T. G. Rockwell, 277 Chestnut street; entertained a few friends at bridge on Tuesday afternoon for her mother, Mrs. S. P. Shane, who is visit- ing here from Cleveland, Ohio. | 5 E EH E Toloff Quality Also For Clubs, Lodges, Fraternities The full equipment and facili- ties of this fine studio are at the service of North Shore organiza- tions for their group or album photographs.
