Effective March 7, 1926--Subject to change Children Feature Big | Invite You to Home Music Festival in May | Coming Day Ceremony [Long before orchestral concerts for children became general in this coun- try the Chicago North Shore Festival association had laid down a settled policy that music for and by the young folk should be a definite and per- manent feature of its concerts. The first festival that was given at Evans- ton--it was in 1909--brought forward a chorus of 1,000 children's voices and this attractive item in the scheme of art has reappeared ever since with many north shore children in the group. The Young People's matinee will be held this season in the North- western university gymnasium, May 29. A young violinist of exceptional artistry--Miss Sylvia Lent, a pupil of the great Auer--will play the finale from Mendelssohn's concerto and the Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso by Saint-Saens and the children will sing groups of songs as well as a cantata "The Ugly Duckling" by Gran- ville English. Mr. English is a Chi- cago composer who, having studied composition with Felix Borowski, made considerable success as a song com- poser. Mrs. W. D. Sethness, 1015 Dinsmore road, entertained a number of her friends at luncheon and bridge last Tuesday, April 27. There were nine tables of bridge in the afternoon. Qn Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. University 8700 Che ORRINGTON mom Be at Arden Shore Camp The annual Home Coming Day cele- | bration will be held at Arden Shore | camp, one mile north of Lake Bluff, on Sunday, May 2, and the board of di- rectors invites all friends of Arden Shore to visit the camp that day. There will be a short program at 3 o'clock, when the Great Lakes orchestra will play, and an informal talk will be given by Dr. J. W. F. Davies, minister of education of the Winnetka Congre- gational church, and director of Win- netka Community House, and there will be camp singing by the boys. After the program in Assembly hall, the guests are invited to go to the ad- ministration building where tea will be served. The hostess for the day is Mrs. Frederick G. Wacker of Lake Forest, who will be assisted by the fol- lowing Chicago and north shore wom- en: Mrs. Lloyd A. Smith, Mrs. Ernest Palmer, Mrs. Mark W. Cresap, Mrs. Henry Peirce Pope, Mrs. Harry A. Sel- ley and Mrs. Marcus D. Richards, and Mrs. George E. Van Hagen, Jr., of Barrington. RIDING CLUB DANCE The annual dinner and dance of the Indian Hill Riding club will be held at Indian Hill club Tuesday, May 11, at 7:30 o'clock. The plans for a very active riding season will be discussed at this dinner which is in charge of the following committee, C. Colton Daugh- aday, Arthur M. Cox, and Godfrey H. Atkin. Mrs. W. D.
