The affair will be held in the gymnasium of the Commun- ity House. At this time girls who have won merits during the year will be given their ranking em- blems. The eight active Camp Fire groups and many girls who have dropped out of the work as they became older will be present. There will be beautiful ceremonies, Camp Fire songs and the awarding of the emblems. All parents and friends of the girls are invited to attend these ceremonies. He visited the glee clubs and inspected music work generally in the elementary schools, at the conclusion of which he expressed himself as well pleased with the progress he witnessed on every hand. The children, throughout the schools, are exceedingly fond of Mr. Surette, and always look forward to his visits with keenest delight. BUILDERS GIVE DANCE The North Shore chapter of the Builders is planning to give a dance at the Kenilworth club early in June. This will be the final dance prior to the vacation season and the last social event of the chapter under the pres- ent officers. . An excellent orchestra has been procured for the occasion. Art League At the annual meeting of the North Shore Art league held recently in Community House, Winnetka, the fol- lowing officers were elected for the en- suing yvear: President, James Cady Ewell; vice-president, William T. Jones; secretary, Mrs. Cora Gould Davies; treasurer, - Mrs. Elizabeth Boldenweck. The directors elected are Mrs. Maria Gallagher, Mrs. Anita Burnham, Frank Peyraud, Percy B. Eckhart, Harry Timmins, Mrs. Ul- rich, William Stewart, Mrs. Van Wagner Alling, Mrs. Dorothy K. Ross, Mrs. Alonze Coburn, Jesse Smith, Mrs. Kate Bacon Bond, Mrs. Rudolph In- gerle, Allen Philbrick and Mrs. Sybell Vennema. After the election of officers it was also voted to include Evanston into membership. Enjoys Extended Stay in Southern Sections E. C. Weissenberg returned Friday of last week from a three weeks' so- journ in the South. He made a brief stop at Hot Spring, Ark. and then proceeded on down to New Orleans and Biloxi, Miss. The latter section especially, has been numbered among the southern sections which have been enjoying a development of boom pro- portions, and Mr. Weissenberg says there is still plenty of evidence of ac- tivity of this nature down there.
