pa 34 WINNETKA TALK June 5, 1926 a. a -- New Trier Faculty Gives Dinner for Dean Harper Members of the faculty at New Trier high school are giving a fare- well dinner for George A. Harper, dean of boys at the school, this eve- ning. Mr. Harper has taken a year's leave of absence and will go to Tuc- son, Ariz., for his health. He has been a member of the school faculty for the past 20 years, having first come to New Trier in 1906. He was an instructor in mathematics at the time and was later made head of the J------ -- mathematics department. For the last few years he has been dean of boys. The dinner will be held at the school and Mr. Harper will be presented with some token of esteem from the faculty. Mr. and Mrs. Morris L. Greeley of 655 Maple avenue are leaving Winnet- ka sometime this month to spend the entire summer at. Mattapoisett, Mass. --Q-- Mrs. Harry W. Thirty- three members were enrolled and the club officers were elected. Franics W. Parker, Jr., is president; J. M. Dick- inson, Jr., vice president; William L. Carden, executive officer; Sanborn Hale, treasurer and Pierre Bouscaren, secretary. The Winnetka Rifle club is to be af- filiated with the National Rifle Asso- ciation of America, a nation-wide or- ganization of civilian shooters. The purpose of this association is to en- courage rifle and pistol shooting both as a sport, and as a means of national defense. Application for a charter has been made to'the National Rifle association and the club is already getting under way. 'Among the many advantages realized from affiliation with the Na- tional Rifle association, are permission to mes the government rifle range at Fort Sheridan, equipment for fitting aut both an indoor and an outdoor range, government issue of rifles and ammunition 'and -the ability to buy equipment at government prices. Much interest has already been shown. Anyone interested in rifle or pistol shooting and desiring to become a member, may apply to Pierre Bous- caren, the club secretary, 646 Prospect avenue, Winnetka. JUDGE ADDRESSES BOYS Federal Judge James H. Wilkerson of the United States District court in Chicago spoke before junior and senior boys at New Trier high school Tues- dav of last week. The subject of his address was the opportunity offered by the law as a profession.
