"The answer to this," says the bulletin, "is simple. The driver who is sure enough of his ability to drive a car over the mountains will have no trouble in dragging a trailer after him. Motor- ists by the thousand are pulling trail- lers through sand, mud and city traffic as well as over the tallest mountain ranges. "Motorists are pulling trailers over the Fall river highway in Colorado, up over Estes park in Rocky Moun- tain National park, the highest moun- tain road in the world. A trailer adds little difficulty to a transcontinental trip, but the motorist who does not know how to handle his car on a hill should not try to take a trailer across the country, in fact he should not even drive across the country until he has mastered the art of ascending and descending hills. The average driver who knows how to shift his gears on a hill, how to use his brakes properly, and who has a good sense of distance, will have no trouble in hauling a trail- er.
