Former Resident Dies of Heart Disease Monday Fred Ward, 64 years old, formerly a resident of Wilmette, dropped dead in his butcher shop at 819 Noyes street, Evanston, last Monday. The cause was heart disease. Ward formerly lived in Wilmette and at one time operated a butcher shop in Hubbard Woods. He was well known to many residents of the north shore. He lived with Michael Schimmel, 2150 Sherman avenue, Evanston, and is said to have relatives in Europe. A curious coin- cidence was encountered in the in- vestigation of the case when it was learned that Ward's brother dropped dead from heart disease in the same shop eighteen months ago. He is now western boys' singles cham- pion and the western boys' doubles co- runnerup. Sheldon won the singles title over Fred Brace, Pontiac, Mich., in three sets marked by long rallies and much cautious back court play, 7-5, 5-7, 6-3. Paired with Nick Lukats, Gary, Johnny lost in the boys' doubles fin- al to Brace and William Schommer, the Michigan and Wisconsin state boys' champions, respectively, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. Mrs. Kenneth McLain of 1076 Pine street, Winnetka, entertained twelve friends for luncheon and bridge on Tuesday of last week in honor of Miss Sara Barnes of St. Louis and Miss Rosemary Howe of Chicago. Indian Hill Residence Sold to Evanston Man Quinlan and Tyson, Inc, announce the sale of the Winnetka home of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey A. Craig at 14 Indian Hill road, to Mr. Walter A. Glos of Evanston. This home is of white colonial design on a lot of over an acre overlooking Indian Hill Golf club. Mr. and Mrs. Glos expect to move into the Winnetka property in September. Frank M.
