Christian Science Churches "Soul" was the subject of the Les- son-Sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, Sunday, August 15. The Golden Text was from Psalms 33:20, "Our soul waiteth for the Lord: He is our help and our shield." Among the citations which comprised the Lesson-Sermon was the following from the Bible: "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? (Matthew 16:24, 26). The Lesson-Sermon also included the following passage from the Chris- tian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy: "The pains pf sense are salutary, if they wrench away false pleasurable beliefs and transplant the affections from sense to Soul, where the creations of God are good, 'rejoicing the heart." Such is the sword of Science, with which Truth decapitates error, materiality giving place to man's higher individ- uality and destiny" (p. 265, 266). Mr. Charles V.
