September 18, 1926 WINNETKA TALK 33 Veteran Newspaper Man Buried in Chicago Monday Funeral services for Frank M. Les- ter 71, editor of the Public Company of Northern Illinois who died Saturday, September 11, at his home in Chicago, were held Mon- day afternoon. Mr. Lester was very Service News, well known Illinois, particu- laily in newspaper circles. For seven- teen years he was a writer on the staff of the Chicago Tribune, becoming affiliated with the utility industry in northern Illinois prior to the organiza- tion of the Public Service company in 1911. The first employe publication of this company was known as the Public Service Lumen and was edited by Mr. Lester from 1916 to 1921. The name of the publication then was changed to the News, Mr. Lester continuing in the capacity of editor in addition to his duties as advertising manager. Mr. Lester was one of three surviv- ing members in Chicago of the Order of Cincinnati, a society made up of the eldest sons in the families of Revolu tionary War officers. He was a grand son, seven generations removed, of Jonathon Edwards. Surviving are the widow, a daughter and two grand children. SERVE TEACHERS LUNCH Members of the Winnetka Parent- Teachers association have been serving lunch to the eighteen teachers at the Hubbard Woods school during the past | week. Mrs. Ryland Wolcott, Mrs George McConnell, Mrs. Roger Ballard, Mrs. George Frigsted, Mrs. George Smith and Mrs. Edward A. Reach. The Milwaukee Council, Boy Scouts of America, recently chartered a special two-car train on the North Shore Line to attend a banquet at Chicago in honor of Sir Robert Baden Powell of England, founder of the Boy Scout movement. Permission was granted the boys to place a small upright piano in the parlor- observation car, and the Scouts entertained themselves, also the towns along the way, with piano selec- tions and group singing.
