October 9, 1926 WINNETKA TALK 9 Funeral Services in Evanston Today for Frank Otto Frank Otto, 67 years old, the first florist in Winnetka, died at his home at Willow road and Provident avenue, Wednesday, October 6, following a severe illness of a week. He had been in ill health for several months. Mr. Otto never married, and lived alone at his florist shop located at 917 Willow road. He loved dogs and al- ways kept two or three. The last of his dogs, an old fellow eighteen years old, is now mourning his death, and cannot be consoled. Mr. Otto was born in Germany, and moved to Winnetka about 1890. When Winnetka was but a small village he built his florist shop and supplied the village with flowers. He finally sold the shop to Sandy Clifford, who in turn -sold it. Mr. Otto has done gar- den work for many residents in Win- netka, and at one time he worked for the village. Funeral services will be held at the Hebblethwaite chapel in Evanston, Saturday, October 9, at 1:30 o'clock. Rev. J. W. F. Davies will conduct the services. Burial will be at Memorial Park cemetery. Mr. Otto is survived by a nephew, Mr. Berger, of Evans- ton. Club Holds Beach Party as First Meeting of Year The first meeting of the Winnetka Sunday Evening club took place Sun- day, October 3, in the form of a beach party. Nineteen members, old and new were present, and the party was pro- nounced a great success. Next week's meeting will be held in the Camp Fire room of the Community House at 6:30 o'clock Sunday evening. An informal supper will be served followed by a talk by the "Chief," Rev. J. W. F. Davies, who will talk about several books that the club might enjoy study- ing this winter. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings, especially those who are through high school, either of college age or older. The Current Events class of Win- netka will meet at the home of Mrs. C. 0.
