All the thrills of the football stadium are packed into this enlivening bit of fun making by the Granada musical ex. perts. A picture of unusual interest is being shown at the Granada this week entitled "Young April." Joseph and Rudolph Schildkraut, father and son, enact a father and son role in a thrilling story of European court in- trigue. Also there will be a dazzling stage attraction called "Chinoland" produced by Jack Haskell. Benny Meroff and his band are entertaining with a musical hit entitled "The Wow Wows." THE HOYBURN The screen version of "The Gay Deceiver," the stage success which starred Leo Drichtenstein, with Lew Cody in the title role, will be at the Hoyburn Wednesday. Cody plays the part of a Paris matinee idol enmeshed in a hilarious series of domestic en- tanglements caused by his engaging mischief. Marceline Day, Carmel Myers and Dorothy Phillips are others of the cast. "Variety," a picture that has been hailed by screen critics as one of the distinctive productions of the year, which recently completed several weeks' engagement at the Roosevelt theater, will be shown for just twe days--Mon- day and Tuesday, at the Hoyburn theater. Men Rate Well in Health Tests Physical condition of Northwestern university young men is considerably better than the average, according to Commander S. B. McKinney, in charge of the Naval unit on the Evanston campus. At Northwestern the shrink- age in recruiting because of physical disability has been only 40 per cent whereas the normal shrinkage is sixty per cent. Commander McKinney made a re- port to President Scott this week on fhe examination of many applicants for position in the Northwestern uni- versity naval unit. "Sixty per cent of the applicants are getting by the examining surgeons," he said. "At Annapolis and other schools the shrinkage is much greater and runs as high as sixty per cent, with only 40 per cent passing the ex- amination. We have been examining numerous applicants at Northwestern university and now have a unit of fifty-eight, or only two short of the required number of sixty.
