Men Rate Well in Health Tests Physical condition of Northwestern university young men is considerably better than the average, according to Commander S. B. McKinney, in charge of the Naval unit on the Evanston campus. At Northwestern the shrink- age in recruiting because of physical disability has been only 40 per cent whereas the normal shrinkage is sixty per cent. Commander McKinney made a re- port to President Scott this week on fhe examination of many applicants for position in the Northwestern uni- versity naval unit. "Sixty per cent of the applicants are getting by the examining surgeons," he said. "At Annapolis and other schools the shrinkage is much greater and runs as high as sixty per cent, with only 40 per cent passing the ex- amination. We have been examining numerous applicants at Northwestern university and now have a unit of fifty-eight, or only two short of the required number of sixty.
