William Merrill Resumes Control of Cab Company William Merrill is again at the head of the Black and White Cab company, having purchased the business from U. C. Abel, to whom he sold it some time ago. Mr. Abel henceforth will de- | cover a period of four vote his entire time to his Exide Bat- tery and Ignition business, at 554 Lin- coln avenue. The Black and White Cab company still operates at the same old number, 552 Lincoln avenue, but with Merrill again at the "wheel." Houren to Leave Sunday for Fire Chief's Meeting Chief G. M. Houren, of the Winnet- ka fire department, will leave Sunday for New Orleans, La., to attend the annual convention of the International Association of Fire Engineers, and with other members of the association will witness the initial presentation of "The Fire Brigade," a new movie which is to be shown for the first time before an audience of fire chiefs assembled from all over the world. It will not only serve to make the general public more appreciative of its faithful servants, the firemen, but will also give the necessary thrill so es- sential to satisfy the present day movie fans.
