New Trier Sports' Department Adopts Managerial System The manager system, which was employed this fall for football, will be carried out this winter in basketball and swimming schedules at New Trier High school. No swimming manager has been appointed as yet, but Curtis Tatham has been chosen basketball manager with Harold Keith, Lester Solomon, Leonard Kraft, Lester Comee and one other boy, yet to be chosen, as his assistants. The head manager will have a particular day each week to be on the job. The chief duty of these boys is to check on all equipment. This consists of keeping account of all the balls, sashes, shirts, time watches, whistles and other school equipment which is used. The assistant managers must tend to the lights and ventilation, see that the balls are properly inflated, keep the floor clear of clothing, and keep the visitors out if the practice is a secret one. The manager also keeps a list of the teams for each night's practice and any notes which the coaches make. On the nights or afternoons of the games the managers must have every- thing in tip top shape. Practice balls, towels, and medical supplies must be at hand. The cashier's and timekeep- er's desks must be put in place and score sheets, stop watches and other timer's and scorer's supplies must be procured and ready for use. One of the assistant managers must manipu- late the score board, and if any need for traffic supervision arises they will be in charge.
