Rosamond Barton, Agnes Bichl, and December 25, 1926 WINNETKA TALK ~: Unique Service Is Planned for Morn of New Year's Day A New Year morning service of worship, a service planned for the young people of Winnetka, is an- nounced by Dr. J. W. F. Davies of the Winnetka Congregational church. It will be at 7 o'clock New morning, an opportunity to start the New Year with a great coming to- gether of the children and the young people of the community, in the house | of worship. The church will be lighted with candles and the ritual, which Dr. Davies is preparing, will enable all to participate in the service. It will afford an opportunity at the dawn of the New Year for thought and reflection to make the most of the year just ahead. It is a service tofore been held in this church, but is one in which Dr. Davies foresees wonderful blessings and benefits, and he is desirous that all the young peo- ple of the community attend. Those who have outings planned for the day, or work to do that morning, are asked to dress for that occasion and come right on to church. This service, Dr. Davies wishes to impress, is not to be a "dress affair." The serv- ice will extend over a period of about forty-five minutes, insuring return home in time for breakfast, if one thinks it is too early to get up and prepare breakfast before coming to church. Don't let the fact that you have been out attending New Year's parties | keep you away, Dr. Davies suggests. | Come right from your New Year's Eve | festivities to the church, (provided you have remained out that late.) But be sure to be there, is Dr. Davies' urgent appeal. Winnetka Girls Entertain Friends at Dance in Town One of the most attractive of holiday dances being planned by north shore mothers and daughters will take place at the New Standard club in Chicago, Saturday, December 25. Miss Marian Alschuler and Miss Dorothy Reach, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred S. Alschuler of 795 Lincoln avenue, and Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Reach of 844 Prospect avenue, will be the hostesses. The Lipsey orchestra, noted for ex- cellent music, will play for the dancing. Miss Reach has returned this past week from the Ely school at Green- wich, Conn., where she is a member of the freshman class, and Miss Alschuler, also a freshman, has just returned from Vassar college. A group of Wilmette girls are en- tertaining at a formal dance Thursday evening, December 30, at the Kenil- worth club. The hostesses will be Winifred Seng, Mariesther Krafthefer, Kathryn Kelley. ---- Mr. and Mrs. Charles Augustus Bar- ton of Wilmette announce the engage- ment of their daughter Rosamond, to Thomas James Kullman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank H.
