Some of the groups are making scrap books for hospital children--some are sewing for babies, others are taking care of a fam- ily on Christmas day with a dinner and gifts, some are to bring a bit of cheer [to soldiers in the hospital. The girls of Margaret Olsen's group, Amy Mac Intyre's group, and the group having Mrs. Philip Fisher and Mrs. J. M. Winscott for guardians, are each to take care of a family. Vir- ginia Ogan's group is sending scrap books and gifts to hospital children, and Vivian Eisenbrand's group bring cheer to some of the soldiers in the Ft. Sheridan Hospital, through gifts and a little play which they will give, there. The Blue-Birds (vounger Camp Fire Girls) in Jane Ashman's and Emily Simpson's groups had a party at Com- munity Hause Wednesday morning, and had great fun playing games and going on a treasure hunt. Dartmouth Boys Are at Home for Holidays Among the freshman boys coming home from Dartmouth college is Charles Richmond Jacobs, son of Dr. and Mrs. Charles M. Jacobs of 860 Burr avenue, Winnetka. Charles grad- uated from New Trier high school last June, and entered Dartmouth in the fall. He has distinguished himself scholastically, having passed some of his courses with honors. Milton Emrich, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Emrich of 614 South avenue, Glencoe, also a freshman, and a New | Trier graduate, returned Saturday, De- | cember 18, from Dartmouth. Milton is interested in athletics and has gone out for basket ball. Leonard Smith of Evanston, a gradu- ate of New Trier, is included in the {contingent of Dartmouth freshmen re- | turning to join jn the round of winter [sports and dancing parties. Leonard, | who is exceptionally quick on his feet, | gained a place for himself on the fresh- | man soccer team at Dartmouth. | Fraternity to Stage Elaborate Dance Event The Chi Sigma Gamma fraternity announces sixth annual Christmas dance, which will be held at the Drake hotel on the evening of December 29. John Jackson of Oak Park is chair- man of the committee. Two orchestras will be featured. Paul Ash and his entire Oriental theatre orchestra will be accompanied by Bill Donahue's University of Illinois dance orchestra which has just returned from Deauville, France. An elaborate program of en- tertainment has also been planned. dancing will be in the main dining until 2 a.m. This will be the costliest dance ever given by a local fraternity, it is said. Henry Stein, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence M. Stein of 812 Lloyd place, Winnetka, who has been attending Dartmouth college in the East this past year, returned for the holidays Satur- day, December 18.
