Launch Campaigns for Better Homes Week Next Spring The Better Homes campaign, launched a few weeks ago by Secre- tary Hoover, is fast gaining ground and already more than fifteen hundred communities have started their pro- grams which will culminate in the ob- servance of Better Homes Week, April 24 to May 1. This is the sixth nation-wide cam paign sponsored by Better Homes in America, the educational organization of which Mr. Hoover is president. President Coolidge heads the advisory committee, which is composed of heads of government departments and na- tional organizations interested in im- proved housing conditions and in home and community life. Dr. James Ford, of Harvard university, 1s in active charge of the work of the organiza- tion, as executive director. The purpose of the Better Homes movement is to encourage and stim- ulate home improvement. Headquar- ters' activities are made possible through public and private gifts and the program is carried out in local communities by volunteer committees f citizens whose chairmen are ap- pointed by National Headquarters. Hokanson and Jenks Take Larger Office Space in Evanston The firm of Hokanson & Jenks, Inc, formerly located at the corner of Hin- man avenue and Davis street, in the Carlson bungalow, Evanston, after less than a year in the real estate business, has moved into larger and more effi- ciently planned quarters across the street at 513 Davis street in the John Evans building.
