This museum houses Dr. Breasted's treas- ures from Egypt and Mesopotamia, and the pupils were guided through the museum by two expert historians on the staff of the university. Some of the antiques that interested the class particularly were a diorite stone jar from 4,000 B. C.; a model of a pyra- mid with a tomb-temple, made to scale; a section of an original copy of the Book of the Dead and some very ancient knife coins. Sunday Evening Club to Adjourn to Hear Speech The Winnetka Sunday Evening club will meet in the Camp Fire room of Community House, Sunday evening, at 7 o'clock, instead of the usual 6 o'clock meeting hour. All young people in the community, above high school age, are invited. After spending a social hour the group will adjourn to the church to attend the lecture to be given by Paul Hutchinson on "An American Looks on Mexico." RECOVERS FROM OPERATION Judge Stephen A. Foster of 596 Ma- ple avenue, is rapidly recovering from an operation performed Saturday, Jan- vary 22, at the Evanston hospital. It is expected that he will return home the latter part of this week. Mr. and Mrs. Edward H. Ball III of 361 Hawthorne lane left yesterday for Pasadena, Cal, with their children, Kathleen and Edward, to spend the re- mainder of the winter. New Trier Students Submit Stories in try Day school took a trip on January | | . - . | story contest which is being held under Live Stock Contest The fourth annual high school meat the auspices of the National Live Stock and Meat board, is now under way and a number of home economics students of the New Trier High school have entered. Preparation of the stories will soon begin and upon com- pletion they will be forwarded to Chi- cago to be judged by a committee of home economics authorities. Univer- sity scholarships and cash prizes are o be awarded to successful contest- ants in all sections of tha country, ac- cording to thé contest rules. | No restrictions are placed on the subject matter except that they must deal with meat or live stock in some phase. This plan of instruction, it is said, has been found most successful by teachers all over the country, as- sisting not only in teaching about meats but also in developing more in- terest in the home economics classes themselves. These classes, it is reported, are considered of greater importance to- day than ever before as the trend is toward education to solve the many problems which confront the house- wife. Home economics classes are un- der the direction of Mrs. Jane Winter Lighter at New Trier. Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Rawleigh of 592 Cherry street, who have been living in Dr. J. O. Ely's house, will leave the vil- lage to stay in the Kenilworth inn until April 1. They are building a new home on Hill road in Winnetka, and expect to occupy it at that time. Dr. and Mrs. Ely are planning to return to their home in Winnetka for the rest of the winter and spring. chase Sale of Up to 12 by 21 Sordi $65 Persian Irans Average size 3.6x6.6 $34.50 one of the most impressive values in the $60,000 Pur- Exquisite color harmonies--chiefly blue and rose.
