Chevrolet Announces Most Beautiful Line of Cars in History Surpassing all its former achieve- ments as the world's largest manufac- turer of three-speed cars, the Chevrolet Motor company announces an entirely new line of automobiles, heralded as the most beautiful in Chevrolet history. The new cars are mechanically finer, entirely new in body lines, smarter in appearance, complete in equipment and outstanding in th edisplay of colors, says Fred T. Richardson, Jr., of Rich- ardson's garage, local Chevrolet dealers. Seven models, five closed and two open cars, comprise the line. One model, a rakish, beautiful sport cabriolet, has been added. Some of the standard features on the new models are as follows--AC air cleaner, AC oil filter, balloon tires, bul- et-type head-lamps and cowl lamps, newly designed radiator shell, one- piece full-crown fenders, heavier run- ning boards, larger steering wheel, new instrument panel, new tire carrier as- sembly and co-incidental ignition and steering lock. Beauty and refinement has been stressed in the design. Succeeding the smoothest Chevrolet, the new line has been built to establish a new.standard in the low price field. All closed bodies are by Fisher and finished in Duco. The seven models are finishqd in five smart color com- binations, with contrasting color stripes emphasizing the body bead. "Fish- tailing," a crowning achievement of the designer's art, hitherto employed only on the more expensive cars, lends a striking appearance to the rear deck of the coupe, sport cabriolet and road- ster. A reduction in the 'over-all' height of the cars without sacrificing head room, makes for a more racy contour. The radiator of polished airplane metal follows a new design. It is longer and larger and with the centrifugal water pump provides for high cooling efficiency. Sweeping one-piece {full crown fenders are topped off by bullet- type head-lamps with cowl-lamps to match. Steel disc wheels in colors are stan- dard equipment on all models. Natural wood wheels are optional at a small additional cost. The Chevrolet motor has been made even smoother and its efficiency further improved by the use of a new and im- proved oil pump. Another advance on this year's car is the use of an AC air cleaner, which supplies clean filtered air to the carburetor and prevents dirt and grit from getting inside of the mo- tor and damaging moving parts. A new and larger steering wheel 17 inches in diameter provides for easier handling and adds to the appearance of the car as well. On closed models new and narrower windshield pillars greatly improve the vision permitting a commanding view of the road. Over 20,799,151 Autos in the World; U. S. Leads On January 1, 1926 there were in operation throughout the world 20,799,151 passenger automobiles, 181,- 573 motorbuses and 3,454,939 trucks. It is estimated that over $3,800,000,000 was paid for new motor vehicles. The United States, it is said, is using over three and one half times as many au- tomobiles as all the rest of the world. Since January of two years ago the number of different makes of cars in production has declined from 77 to 53. NEW HUP AGENCY Willys Gamron and Morris Reicheld have secured the Hupmobile agency for this area and will operate under the name of Ridge Motor Sales Co., Inc. They have negotiated a lease through Hokanson & Jenks, Inc. for the automobile salesroom and service station in the building in Evanston.
