"The Goose Hangs High," Next Minturn Offering | The younger generation, the young | flappers and cake-eaters of today who have been spanked so regularly in the hotoplays and novels and in such plays as "Scandal" and "Nice People," will find they have a violent defender in Lewis Beach, whose resounding comedy hit, "The Goose Hangs High," will be presented by the Minturn | Players all next week at the New Ev- anston theater. | In this play, which ran for 200 nights |at the Bijou theater, New York, Mr. Beach shows that the pleasure-loving, {thoughtless, sophisticated, extravagant, self-centered sons and daughters are true as steel when misfortune comes to the family, and their indifference to parental love, affection and sacrifice is all on the surface. "The Goose Hangs High," writes a critic, "is a play that will appeal to every member of every family. Whether you are a flapper, or a flap- ner's parent, a flapper's brother, a flap- per's father or mother or a flapper's grandmother, you will laugh a lot and cry a little and be supremely enter- tained at this smashing comedy suc- cess." The North End Mothers' club of Ev- anston will attend the opening of "The Goose Hangs High" next Monday eve- ning. The Educational department of the Neighbors announces a course of six lectures on Modern Literature and Poetry to be given by Professor Franklin Bliss Snyder of Northwestern university.
