Prouty of 565 Lin- coln avenue, chairman of the Congre- gational church circles throughout the village, has attended many of the reg- ular meetings of the various groups, and each time has brought a message | of interest and inspiration to the mem- bers. The Willow street and New I'rier circles, which held meetings Tuesday, February 8, invited Mrs. Prouty to meet with them and speak about the circle work in general. Mrs. Prouty drew unique compari- sons regarding the meeting of the cir- cle organization by saying: "The circle is the only figure which symbolizes completeness. In the circle there is no break, every part is neces- sary to every other part, and the least bit broken away spoils not only its beauty but its purpose. "So with our neighborhood groups. Truly are they called 'Circles' for each one must touch the spirit of her neighborhood to keep the symbol per- fect. The unbroken circle is our pat- tern. The neighborhood spirit is an intangible but beautiful thing. It must be like the prism, reflecting all the best interests yet showing in itself always, the clear white light of friend- liness. It must leave no soul lonely or sad for want of human greeting, and must so glow with patient tolerance that no soul shivers in the cold air of misunderstanding. "The warmth of genuine friendli- ness will make summer in every heart, and in that temperature the flowers of happiness, service and unselfishness will never fail to grow."
