Always outstanding in his gridiron per- formances, he is turning in some en- viable work on the track this season which marks him as a capable all- around athlete. Successful in his football career, "Tiny" turned to track following the fall grid campaign and in his first big meet picked up two firsts and a tie for second. It was due largely to his per- formances that the Purple was able to defeat Notre Dame. His victories in the shot put and hurdles and his tie for second in the high jump gave Northwestern the winning points. "Tiny" specializes in the shot put, an event in which he ranks among the best in the conference. hopes to add to that distance by the time of the indoer conference at Ev- anston, March 11-12. His ability in the hurdles is rather unusual for a man of his size. He weighs 200 pounds and is six feet one inch tall. Despite his bulk it is well distributed and enables him to get away to a fast start.
