Drama Classes to Exhibit Model Stages at New Trier Between twenty-five a n d thirty model stages, complete in every detail, will be exhibited by Miss Olive Grov- er's drama classes at the New Trier High school, Thursday afternoon, Feb- ruary 17, between the hours of 1 and 3:30 o'clock. The exhibit is made as a special observance of National Drama week and the general public is urged to attend. The miniature stages, constructed as a part of the regular work of the stu- dents in the Dramatic department, present the scenes from a number of well known plays. They are con- structed on a half-inch to one foot scale and are exact in every detail, both in measurements and furnishings. During the semester, each student reads several plays, gathering complete information regarding the scenes necessary for presentation. The gen- eral floor plan is generally given. He must also determine the period in which the action would have taken place and then study out the type of furniture that would have been used. With this completed the furniture must be made by hand for the model room, in exact measurement and design. Even lamps and pictures must be included. From this model, by measuring to scale, a stage set of the proper capaci- ties and equipment could be made.
