Kin- solving, at Orchestra hall, Wednes- day night, February 23. The orchestra, which for fifteen years has been under the baton of Leopold Stokowski, is made up of 108 master musicians, each a virtuoso, representing the cream of instru- mentalists of America and Europe. The program will be an interesting one, combining the classic works of Bach and Handel with the more mod- ern compositions of Debussy and Ravel. Practically every artist of distinc- tion in the world of music has ap- peared as soloist with this famous organization, and its guest conductors have included such celebrities as Rich- ard Straus, Alfredo Casela, Georges Enesco, Igor Strawinsky, Vincent d'Indy, Ossip Gabrilowitsch and Fred- erick Stock. In early season contests, New Trier emerged the victor in both di- visions but only after close and hard fought games. The New Trier heavyweights have been playing the best grade of basket- ball seen on the local floor for a num- ber of years and emerged the victors in their twelfth game last Saturday by defeating Oak Park. At the pres- ent standing they hold the champion- ship of the old Suburban league and have not lost a game this season. At the first of the year the light- weights were not showing the best of form, although they have only dropped one game, to Oak Park by one point. In the last few weeks, however, they seem to have found the right stride and in their second game with Oak Park, last Saturday night, trounced the former victors by a 36 to 17 score. New Trier also stands in the lead in this division. The lineup which will probably be used in the invasion of Morton Sat- urday, is as follows: Heavyweights, W. Paletti and J. Shelden as for- wards; Hoeber at center; and Cope- land and J. Paletti, guards. Light- weights, McClain and Whitaker as forwards; Strong at center; Swan and Mills guards. Richards, who has been showing first string form, may start at forward with the lightweights, and is certain to get in the game. North Shore Theater Guild to Present 'Ariadne' Next The directors of the North Shore theater guild announce that for the third play of this season they have selected "Ariadne," a comedy by A. A. Milne. Mr. Milne is well known for many de- lightful plays. In selecting "Ariadne," the guild is following out its policy of producing four different plays each year, all of which have had success in other towns but which have never been seen in or about Chicago. "Ariadne" was pro- duced by the New York Theater guild several years ago. = * RA - Now in Winnetka .... : ATWATER KENT RADIO wz a TE aT : North Shore Electric Shop O. L.
