yi February 19, 1927 WINNETKA TALK 31 Men, Like Women, Go in for Bright Colored Clothes) Tans and greys, with plaids and pro- nounced stripes receiving first call, are the colors in men's fashions for the approaching spring and summer, ac- cording to Emil A. Nord, of the tailor- ing firm of Schultz and Nord, Wil- mette, who has just returned from the annual convention of cutters and de- signers at Pittsburgh. "Materials with a wealth of color will have the call this season and the two button sack, with close hips and wide shoulders, will be the fashion," Mr. Nord says. The coat length will be four and one-half inches less than one- half of the height of the model, if you gather our meaning. The collar will be low and flat. This style will be especially smart in striped material, one is told. Pockets will be set low and the patch effect will have strong claim for popularity. Vests will be single breasted, six button, without collar and will have low points. Trousers will be fairly wide, say, 20% inches at the knee and 18 at the bottom, and will be turned In knickers, the Plus four will have the popular call. Dress overcoats for spring wear will be dark paletot, single or double breasted. Y Tuxedos will follow generally the lines of the sack coat. Mr. Nord is receiving large allot- ments of suiting materials for the spring and summer seasons. In the new passenger station of the Chicago, North Shore & Milwaukee railroad in Chicago is located one of the two electric amplifiers in the world used for announcing trains. | Scout Course for Adults to Be Held in Wilmette Church Twenty-eight men, many of them fathers of Boy Scouts, and a large number of them Scout leaders, met last Monday night at the Highland Park Presbyterian church for a month- ly Scout dinner which was followed by the fourth session of the training course for adults, conducted by the North Shore Scout Area council. The program of each session of the training course is divided into varied periods such as well organized Scout troops are. Robert Townley, Scout- master of Troop 1 of Kenilworth, gave the "Big Idea" presentation on "How to Build a Feeling of Morale in Groups." Uniformity of appearance, regularity of attendance, insisting that all ab- sences be excused, the organization of the troop in such way that junior offi- cers are given genuine responsibility, a strong emphasis on the out-door program, frequent opportunity for in- ter-troop competition, a steady ad- vancement with participation in the Court of Honor, and a well-planned troop meeting night program in writ- ing, were among the various helps he suggested in building the troop morale. The sessions to be held on the last Mondays in February will be at the Wilmette Baptist church. It is not too late to enroll in the course, and visitors are always welcome, the coun- cil explains. Mr. and Mrs. James Douglass Adams of San Francisco have been receiving the congratulations of their friends upon the birth of a son January 26. The baby has been named Douglass Mordock Adams.
