These additions to the service were made known with announcement by the North Shore line management of the new operating schedule which goes into effect at that time. The new schedule of operation over the Skokie Valley route centralizes all high-speed operation on this new stretch of modern track. As a result of the increased operating efficiency, extension of limited service has been made possible as follows : The Northland Limited, with parlor- observation car daily, northbound from Adams and Wabash station, Chicago Loop, at 8 a. m., will stop at North Chicago Junction at 9 a. m., Waukegan at 9:05 a. m.,, Kenosha at 9:20 a. m,, and Racine at 9:32 a. m., arriving at Milwaukee terminal at 10:07 a. m. The new service between downtown Waukegan and the Chicago Loop com- prises three fast trains daily. Two southbound trains, leaving Washington and Genesee streets, Waukegan, at 6:40 a. m., and 4:59 p. m., will make the run to Chicago over the Skokie Valley Route in one hour and 11 min- utes. One northbound train will leave Adams and Wabash station, Chicago, at 6:53 a. m., reaching downtown Wau- kegan in one hour and 14 minutes. These new Waukegan specials are in addition to the regular North Shore Line service of three trains every hour, day and evening, from Waukegan to the Chicago Loop--a Shore Line Lim- ited every 30 minutes from downtown Waukegan and a Skokie Valley Lim- ited every hour from Edison Court station. Similar service is furnished northward. Another important addition to North Shore Line service under the new schedule is the inafiguration of regular hourly train service between Lake Bluff, Libertyville and Mundelein daily, with trains operating half-hour- ly during the morning and evening rush periods daily except Sundays. This new train service replaces the motor coaches formerly operated in conjunction with train service. Regu- lar express service between Mundelein and the Chicago Loop over the Skokie Valley route is maintained under a slightly modified schedule of operation. Catholic Daughters Hold Patriotic Program Monday The members of Newman Court, Number 511, of the Catholic Daughters of America, and their friends, enjoyed a patriotic program Monday evening, February 14, at St. Mary's school, Ev- anston. The hall was prettily decorated with the national colors. Refreshments were suggestive of Valentine's day. Mrs. William Pollard, assisted by Miss Florence Carrigan, gave a group of songs which were popular in Lincoln's time. Prof. James IL. Lard- ner of the School of Speech, North- western university, gave the popular reading, "He Knew Lincoln," by Ida M. Tarbell. Miss Louise Starkey, also of Northwestern, delighted the audience with a number of humorous Scotch dialect selections. Leslie A.
