After this part of the program, refreshments were served from a patriotic tea table in commemoration of Washington's birth- day. George Earl Ayer, a young artist, who has studied under Tadania in Seattle, and Piexto in Paris, came as a guest of the circle, having just fin- ished a commission of silhouettes for Frank Logan. Mr. Ayer brought an exhibit of interesting pastels and sil- houettes and made two stunning sketches, explaining ideas on art and | life as he worked, one a landscape and one the postrait of a young girl. Aged Carpenter Taken to His Home in Wisconsin Early Tuesday morning Officer Wil- liam Cazel noticed William Burmaster acting in a peculiar manner and took him to the station. Burmaster, who is 60 and has been working at the car- penter trade, has relatives residing at Appleton, Wis. They were notified and that evening an officer from Ap- pleton and a relative of Burmaster's came down and took him home. Bur- master had in his possession a large roll of money and his bank book in- dicated that he had on deposit in an Appleton bank, $6,000.
