ot March 5; 1987 WINNETKA TALK Records Indicate $500,000 Building Grants in February Building permits for twenty-nine new | residences on the north shore were is- sued during the month of February and on most of which work has already been started. The unusually favorable weather conditions prevailing at this time of the year are attributable to the exceedingly early start which the build- ing industry has enjoyed, and which 1s taken as a splendid omen that this is to be another record year 'in north shore home building. The total cost of the twenty-nine buildings for which permits were is- sued, is $447,600. Additional permits for remodelling jobs and new garages, brought the total building permit valua- tions for the month to almost one-half million dollars, the exact figure being $498,605. Wilmette leads with a total of $163,- 075. Of this, $140,500 is for twelve residences. Winnetka is second, with a total of $137,430 of which $119,600 is for seven residences. Kenilworth takes third place with a total of $102,500, which is for four new residences. Glencoe issued permits totalling $95,600 of which $85,000 is for six new residences. The Golden Text was from John 1:17, "The law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ." Among the citations which comprised the Lesson-Sermon was the following from the Bible: "Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, be- lieve also in me. Believe me that I am m the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father" (John 14:1, 11, 12). The ILesson-Sermon also included the folowing passages from the Chris- tian - Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy: "Jesus demon- strated Christ; he proved that Christ is the divine idea of God--the Holy Ghost, or Comforter, revelling the divine Principle.
