"The Ratsy" is a comedy from | the pen of Barry Conners, author of "Applesauce," "The Mad Honeymoon" and other popular successes, and its presentation by the local organization will undoubtedly be one of the most interesting events of the theatrical sea- son in this city. In slangology "The Patsy" means "The fall guy," "the goat," that unfor- tunate person so often found in a home, or a business, who always gets the blame no matter whose the fault. In the Harrington household it is Pat- ricia. She is the younger daughter of a typical American family. A sensi- tive, imaginative girl, "Pat" is constant- ly harried by her socially ambitious mother and older sister, her growth and individual unfoldment is stunted in every direction except in that of her | father whose love and loyalty prove her eventual salvation. To make mat- | ters worse "Pat" is desperately in love with Tony, her sister's fiance. Even when Tony is jilted for a boy of greater financial and social prominence it doesn't make matters any easier for Pat, because her love is unrequited. Drawn together by a common sorrow Pat and Tony become great pals how- ever, and the latter, in complete ignor- ance of the identity of the man loved by Patricia, guarantees that she will win him if she'll only fo'low his in- structions. Follow six thrilling lessons in love which "The Patsy" turns against her young teacher. Just as they prom- ise success the older sister decides she wants Tony back, and for a time things look pretty dark for Barry Conners captivating heroine. "The Patsy" is three acts of comedy, romance, laughter and pathos, telling a most appealing love story and giving Miss Williams one of the finest acting opportunities she has ever enjoyed in the Minturn company.
