The Woman's society, with Mrs. D. S. Lasier in charge will furnish the gift table. The hat counter will be in charge of Mrs. Louis Williams and remnants and draperies under the su- | pervision of Mrs. Robert Smith and | Mrs. Albert Bechelheimer. Wallace, in speaking against my candidacy for Marshal and Collector, stated that his suspicions were aroused when anyone sought to give back any money to the Village, and, also, that [ was a candidate for this office ten years ago. My only motive in allowing my name to be presented was to save the Village $550 a year, for I cannot con- | ceive why a Village like Winnetka should pay one of its citizens $550 a year to have him promise to do nothing. I' have been a resident in Winnetka for almost thirty years and never be- fore have I been a candidate for any office.
