March 26, 1927 WINNETKA TALK OWN YOUR HOME EXPO. Chicago Coliseum to be Scene of Great Display Promoting Better Construction of Homes Visualizing home ownership, careful planning, homesites selection, good construction, better equipment, beau- tiful interiors, happy surroundings and improving old homes, Chicago's enth annual Own Your Home Building and Equipment Exposition will open Saturday, April 2, in the Coliseum and continue from 1 P. M. to 11 P. M. un- til the following Saturday, including Sunday. The only purpose of the exposition is to promote better construction of homes, so this year the feature of the entire display is a court of homes sur- rounding a beautiful garden. The front elevations of every type of house, stucco, concrete and concrete faced, complete and finished, are placed around the "court." Then, as if a gi- gantic knife had cut through them, the ceilings, walls, floors and foundations are laid bare showing just how they have been made. Sanctioned by the Chicago Real Estate board, the exposition is under the supervision of Robert H. Sexton, as managing director He is also in charge of the exposition in New York City. Henry G. Zander, Jr, who is fifth vice-president of the Chicago Real Estate board, is chairman of the committee of administration. Charles Bostrom, president of the Builders' club and former building commis- sioner, is chairman of the building materials committee. Albert W. Swayne, 400 N. Michigan avenue, is in charge of the co-operative ownership committee.
