Phelps, 328 Leicester road, Kenilworth, veteran members of the New Trier Township | High school Board of Education, will be candidates for re-election at the | annual New Trier Township High | School Board of Education election | Saturday, April 9. ! Mr. Gates it to be a candidate for | re-election as president of the board, | while Mr. Phelps will succeed himself | as a member of that body. Both have | been prevailed upon to be candidates for re-election because of their splen- did records and also in view of the fact that they have had a tremendous- ly important part in the present am- bitious building program of the high school. It is the hope of the High school board that the citizens of the township will turn out in large numbers to give a convincing complimentary vote to these able leaders. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Lindeman and children of 1089 Spruce street return- ed home last week from New Orleans, where, for the past three months, Mrs. Lindeman and her three young daugh- ters have been visiting Mrs. Linde- man's father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Thomas. Mr. Lindeman joined his family in March and spent two weeks with them in New Orleans. --O-- Mrs. R. Floyd Clinch and Miss Margaret Clinch of Glenwood street, returned Thursday from Mississippi, where they had been for several weeks. Mr. Clinch, who was with them for a time, returned two weeks ago. Fifty-five Students Sign Up for Trip Through East Fifty-five students of New Trier High school had made reservations at 9 o'clock last Tuesday night for the second annual educational tour, which will start on Friday, April 8 {rom Chicago via the Pennsylvania railroad, and will cover an itinerary including Washington, D. C., Winchester, Va, Endless Caverns, Annapolis, Md., Nor- | folk, Va., Yorktown, Va. and Rich- mond, Va. The trip is open to both students and older people and, providing 80 peo- ple sign up, a special train will be furnished by the railroad for the use of the party throughout the trip. The same rates applying to students may be taken advantage of by older people The trip is said to be invaluable from an educational viewpoint, pro- viding concrete illustrations from the pages of history and literature and ba- sic lessons in patriotism and civics. Among the famous points of interest to be visited will be St. John's church in Richmond, the capitol buildings in Washington and the naval academy at Annapolis. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew P. Canning and their daughter, Florence, of 889 Sheridan road, Hubbard Woods, have returned from a motor trip through the South. After visiting friends at Palm Beach, they returned home by way of Tampa and Brooksville, stop- ping at "Chinsegut," the beautiful es- tate of their friends, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Robbins. g wn Mrs. Florence L.
