As this is the first game of the season it has been agreed upon that both teams substitute freely. The lineup as Manager Earl Flynn has given it, includes practically the same men who finished the seasan last year. Earl Smith, the Winnetka slab artist, and the gentleman who boasts a record of ten strikeouts per game last season, will again be on the rubber this summer. The illustrious "China" Rudolph, and "Larry" Knox will again battle for the guardianship of the ini- tial sack. George Dahl, the boy who played er- rorless ball all last summer, will be much in evidence around second base again this season. Flynn announces that a new face will shine forth from the short-stop position. To satisfy your curiosity, he says, be at the game to- morrow. "Fid" Runnfeldt, made-over ieft fielder, will cavort about the ter- ritory of third base. A large number of outfielders have reported so far, and from these Flynn says he has a healthy lot of sluggers, as well as expert fly-chasers. Frank Hohlfelder, Bill Schroeder, Money Ru- dolph, Morry Thomas, Bill Blow, George Brown, and Bob Burmeister, comprise the lot. The catching job, although not def- initely decided upon, will probably as- signed to Bob Burmeister.
