A AAT April 23, 1927 WINNETKA TALK Canterbury Court, Lake Front Estate, Is Placed on Sale Lake front property valued at close to half a million was subdivided and placed on sale through the real estate firm of Baird and Warner this week. The subdivision, known as Canterbury court, lies at the extreme northeast- ern corner of Evanston and the ex- treme southeastern corner of Wil- mette. It is one of the few remaining undeveloped pieces of lake front prop- erty with riparian rights in this vi- cinity. It extends for about 400 feet along Sheridan road and has a depth of about 700 feet to the lake. Albert E. Cross, owner, who is re- serving his own home at 336 Sheridan road, Wilmette, and a plot of ground around it, is placing the property on the market. He is offering through Baird and Warner nine lots each of which fronts on a private street called Canterbury court, and each of which because of the gently rolling slope of the property has a full view of the lake. Building restrictions which are de- signed to establish a high standard residential development include the elimination of coal as fuel in the homes and the requirement that each house be provided with an incinerator. Telephone and electric light wires will be underground. The property was originally the Gates homestead. Mr. Cross pur- chased it three years ago for $225,000. TRAIN LIFE SAVERS Last year the Chicago Chapter of the Red Cross trained, examined, and passed 3,122 senior life savers and 4,113 juniors, a twenty per cent in- crease over the number for the previ- ous year, and a United States record for the most extensive work done mn life saving. During 19266 Illinois produced oil valued at $15,000,000 at the wells. Beauty Lies in Healthy EYES It's not so much the size or color of the EYES that makes them beautiful.
