52 WINNETKA TALK April 23, 1927 Hartmann Brothers Build Dupee Place Residence Hartmann Brothers, builders, ex- pect to begin, within a few weeks, the development of the third and final lot which they purchased several months ago on Dupee place, south of Maple avenue, Wilmette. This is the north lot of the three, on which they will erect a six-room solid brick house and a two-car gar- age. The house will be of English Colonial design but of a different type from the first one, which was built and sold last fall on the south lot. The house on the center lot is a Dutch Colonial, which was also sold before it was completed. Hartmann Brothers are now work- ing on a Dutch Colonial brick resi- dence on the east side of Sheridan road, north of Central avenue, also has been sold and will be ready for occupancy by the middle of Au- gust. INDIAN HILL ESTATES IMPROVEMENTS RUSHED Sewer Contract Awarded in Sub- division; Water and Lighting Coming Apace In Indian Hill Estates, a highly re- stricted property of large estates re- cently annexed to Wilmette, and lo- cated 260 yards southwest of the In- dian Hill club, in which $1,000,000 of residential construction is being rapid- ly brought to completion, installation of a sewer system is to be commenced May 1, according to J. P. Conrad of the Cannell, Conrad Construction company. On March 29, this com- pany was awarded the contract for the sewer system installation by the Wil- mette Village board of local improve- ments, Advertise For Water Bids Bids for the installation of water facilities have been ordered advertised and will be received April 26, it is er- plained. At a public hearing, held April 12, a resolution was passed by the board of local improvements for the installa- tion of a street lighting system throughout Indian Hill Estates. This lighting also is to be projected east on both sides of Lake avenue to Ridge road and on the west side of Ridge road one block north and south. This will connect up the Indian Hill Es- tates with the older section of Wil- mette. President Orner declared at the pub- lic hearing: "This installation marks additional progress in the high grade improvement of the section west of Ridge road and will provide a beau- tiful white way directly to the heart of Wilmette." Let Private Contracts Private contracts likewise have been let for the installation of under- ground telephone and electric wiring throughout the entire 113 acres of In- dian Hill Estates. The bond issue for the installation of sewer facilities has been purchased by Bills Realty, Inc., who also are marketing Indian Hill Estates. New Movie Manager Takes Lease on Winnetka Home Sam Meyers of Chicago, who will manage Teatro del Lago, the new mo- tion picture house in "No Man's Land," has taken a lease on the Charles J. Kostbade home at 1149 Scott avenue, Winnetka. Mr. Kost- bade has purchased the adjoining resi- dence of H. W, Rubel. McGuire & Orr were the brokers in the lease.
