Vincent General Contractor Winnetka Nine Takes First Tilt of Season Winnetka's baseball team won the first game of the season last Sunday by defeating the Western Electric, a strong team, by a score of 5 to 4. In the first inning after Winnetka made three errors, Albert, the left fielder for the visitors, doubled and scored three runs. In the sixth Curtis scored by Burmeister's wild throw to third. The score at the end of the fourth was 4 to 0 in favor of the Western Electric team. Winnetka made one run in the fifth after Rudolph walked, and Lu- chessi doubled in the sixth. When Rummfeldt doubled and scored on Burmeister's sacrifice fly, there was a total of three runs. In the seventh with two out and Luchessi on third, Rummfeldt singled, scoring Pete. Rummfeldt stole second and scored on Dahl's double. Dahl scored on Bur- meister's single. Manager Flynn wishes to thank all the spectators at the game last Sunday and hopes that many will come out this Sunday to watch the Winnetka team play the Opeka team from Waukegan. Springer, of 430 Maple avenue, Wilmette, returned last week from a motor trip to Florida where they spent several days with the Ringling & White, Inc., interests, in which company Mr. Springer is one of the directors. The concern is de- veloping a 50,000 acre tract in farm, grove, poultry and dairy production, surrounding Floridale city, which is to be the distributing market center for the Floridale farms and groves, and where they have just completed a ho- tel project costing $150,000. Mr. and Mrs. Springer motored down via Birmingham and Pensacola. Returning they stopped at Tallahassee where Mr. Springer met Governor Martin and other state officials on business, then continued on to Lake City, Orlando, then up to Albany, Ga., via Thomasville, where, at the former place, they have a 500-acre pecan or- chard. From there they proceeded to Atlanta, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Lex- ington, Frankfort, Vincennes, Dan- ville and Chicago, having covered 3,200 miles on the journey. John J. Bunch Purchases Residence in Wilmette The new six room stucco residence which it was announced early in the season was being built by F. H. Gathercoal, of 1213 Wilmette avenue at 123 Seventeenth street, Wilmette, for the market, has been sold, and was occupied Friday of last week by the new owner, John J. Bunch. Mr. Bunch is with the Builders Millwork and Supply company of Evanston. This is one of a number of the nice residences on Seventeenth street which were built by Mr. Gathercoal and which have always found ready sale.
