NASH Leads the World in Motor Car Value NASH has the power you need onthe {1 1LS Every Nash owner notices that he has very little gear shifting to do on hills, no matter howsteepthe grades maybe. Nash is a very powerful motor car. There is nothing half-hearted or slug- gish about its response--the motor never "talks back" at you--even though you are climbing mountains. One reason is the more than adequate power designed into every Nash motor car. Nash engineering has provided reserve energy for situations that tax the resources of other cars, and extend their engines to the point of strain. Another reason for the powerful per- formance of Nash is 7 bearings. 7 bearings in every Nash model, in- stead of 3 or 4, means that power is not thrown away by crankshaft "whip." Proper bearing support conserves en- ergy that older motor types waste. Quick acceleration -- powerful re- sponsiveness--such as Nash provides, is a safety factor you cannot overlook. It is invaluable on the hills, very handy in traffic. When you select your next car, be sure to see how unfavorably the power and pick-up of other cars compare to Nash, before you decide! There are 26 models priced from $865 to $2090 f. 0. b. factory. Waukegan Baseball Nine Takes Measure of Winnetka Outfit The Waukegan Opekas defeated the Winnetka baseball nine 12-8 in a ten inning struggle Sunday, May 8, at the Skokie Playfield. The Waukegan boys did all of their scoring in three in- nings, making four runs in the first, four in the fifth and four in the tenth. The Winnetka boys made three runs in the second, two in the third, two in the fourth, and one in the seventh. Winnetka made eight runs, ten hits and three errors. Waukegan scored twelve runs, ten hits and four errors. Stanley Knox and Peter Lucchesi pitched for Winnetka and A. Opeka pitched for Waukegan. The next game will take place Sun- day afternoon, May 15 at the Skokie Playfield, when Winnetka will play the Waukegan colored team. The game is called for 3 o'clock, and the Win- netka team hopes the attendance will be as large as on the last two Sun- days. North Shore Line Adds to Fleet of Locomotives Orders for two electric-trolley-stor- age battery locomotives, the first of their type ever built, have been placed by the Chicago, North Shore and Mil- waukee railroad to be used in freight service to the various industrial plants along the road. The locomotives will each weigh 65 tons and will operate either from an overhead trolley or from the storage batteries which they carry and can charge their batteries from the trolley while operating. The flexibility of operation will en- able the railroad to switch cars into industrial plants equipped with tracks but without trolley connections. The complete absence of smoke, noise or noxious gases of any kind, will permit the locomotives to run into buildings where a steam locomotive would be very objectionable. The locomotives are being built by the General Electric company and will be used largely on the new Skokie Val- ley Route of the North Shore Line, where many industrial plants are being located.
