The "Sea Sym- phony" by Vaughan Williams, on which the chorus is spending consider- able preparation, will probably be the most popular number on its program for this year, according to Dean P. C. Lutkin, who is directing the choral work. This symphony was written in 1910 and has been popular in England, being considered one of the greatest choral works of recent years. This will be its first performance here. About ten percent of the members of this vear's chorus have sung with the group each year since its first ap- pearance nineteen years ago. Dean Lutkin has been the director ever since its beginning. A feature of the chorus is its demo- cratic nature, for it consists of people from all ranks of society bound to- gether by a mutual love of music. There are doctors, lawyers, business men, and business as well as society women and housewives. The only requisites are a fair voice and some experience in choral singing.
