Drayer of 1034 Elm- wood avenue, Wilmette, who is now completing her senior year at the Uni- versity of Illinois, was named in an an- nouncement last Saturday as one of the students to have her name en- graved on the Bronze Honor Tablet which is annually put up as a record of those who stand in the upper .hree per- cent of their classes during their junior and senior years. The honor was at- tained by only twenty-four seniors this year. The tablet will be placed in the hall of the University Administration build- ing with those of the previous years. Miss Drayer will also be one of the honor students to attend the Honors Day Convocation of those of high scholarship which will be held Friday, May 20. President David Kinley will address the group and the one hundred members of the university senate will also be present at the ceremony. Mrs. A. Bremner Peck of 1102 Cherry street and her two little daugh- ters left Wednesday, May 18, for Cali- fornia, to be the guest of Mrs. Peck's mother in Hollywood. They expect to remain a month. Kenilworth Youth Hurt When Struck by Machine John Montonaro, residing with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mon- tonaro, at 526 Linden avenue, Kenil- worth, was painfully injured when struck by a car driven by Miss Marian Page, 901 Ashland avenue, Wilmette, at the intersection of Warwick road and Melrose avenue in Kenilworth last Monday. Young Montonaro, it was reported to the Kenilworth police, was riding on a bicycle on Melrose avenue and was struck by the Page car as it was being driven north on Warwick road. He was placed in a car and taken to the Evanston hospital where he was at- tended by Dr. Frederick Christopher of Winnetka. The injuries, it was found, were apparently confined to two severe scalp wounds and painful abrasions about the knees. It was necessary, however, to take several stitches in the wounds, after which the boy was re- turned to his home where, it is said, he is recovering rapidly. Mr. and Mrs. Roger K. Ballard and Mr. and Mrs. George T. Leach are among the Winnetka people who at- tended the fifty-ninth annual spring meeting of the Investment Banks as- sociation of America at White Sul- phur Springs, and returned this week- end.
