The musical program, given to an | audience which filled the living room | and overflowed into library, hall, and | | burlesque enhanced by the added years sun porch, was as follows: I Piano solos Autumn The Ny PTET ee PE Chaminade Two Larks Leschetizky Raymond Allyn Smith II Choir Selections O Saviour Sweet There Shall Be No More Night .... Locke, soloist IIT Solos A Group of Love Songs Harry Davis IV Violin Duets Compositions of Mrs. Floy Little Bart- ett Echoes of a Tea Dansant Dance of the Marionettes Mrs. Valona Brewer, Mrs. Robert Kingery, Mrs. Bartlett at the piano The program of dances which fol- lowed was given in the ballroom on the third floor by Mrs. W. J. Webb, assisted by Charles Eastman, Russell Locke, Charles Simpson, James Rod- | Webb's dancing Dutch, and American. The perfection of grace and rythm displayed in Mrs. elated the audience with a fresh sense oi the talent which seems to naturally gravitate to Win- netka from the four quarters of the globe, by virtue of which it has been said that one can find in Winnetka someone to do anything if one but look long enough. The original ballet "Spring," per- formed by the five men fulfilled not to say exceeded, all expectations. It had all the humor of a college boy's and avoirdupois. The ecstacies of the dancers on hearing the song of the cuckoo in the tree, and conspicuously Mr. Eastman's endeavor to imitate the flight of the bird, were greatly appre- ciated by the audience. Mrs. Webb closed the program with a Spanish dance, followed by an Eng- lish Country jig, the dance in which she coached Dorothy Gish for the film "Nell Gwynne." Refreshments and dancing followed. That the evening was an enjoyable one was evidenced by the reluctance of the participants to leave and by several interested inquiries as to when the next party would be given. In- cidentally the proceeds resulted in a substantial fund which it is hoped will soon increase to the amount neces- sary for the piano.
