Er -- ------ preen y June 4, 1927 WINNETKA TALK 13 N.S. Music Festival Is Big Success, State Committee Members The 1927 North Shore Music festival was one of the best of the nineteen given thus far, is the consensus of its many patrons. "It was one of the most successful, if not the most, ar- tistically and financially," according to J. H. Hilton, business manager, "and the officers and executive committee are well satisfied." The meeting of North Shore Musical festival association will be held June 21, and a complete statement will then be made concerning this year's series of concerts. Financially this year's festival was a | | little more successful than last year's | | and the profits are estimated in the neighborhood of $1,000. Total receipts were $41,000 and expenses $40, There was a noticeable falling off in the course ticket sale this year, and the single ticket sale accounts for the fact that receipts were not as large as in some former years. Another factor is that only five con- certs were given instead of the six as has been the practice in the past five years. The committee is well pieased with giving only five concerts and feels that this is more satisfactory than six concerts because the general public likes the smaller number better since Wednesday and Friday evenings are left open during festival week.
