Palmer of the First Congregational church, Oak Park, will give the address at the 41st annual commencement of the National | Kindergarten and Elementary college to be held at Harrison hall on the Sheridan road campus, Wednesday afternoon, June 8, at 3. | Dr. Palmer's address will be fol- lowed by greetings from the board of directors given by Merritt Starr, pres- ident of the board. Diplomas will be presented to students who have com- pleted the course, and honorary schol- arships will be awarded by Miss Edna Dean Baker, president of the college. Mrs. Harry G. Phillips, president of the national alumnae association of the college, will present the two hon- orary scholarships given annually by the alumnae in honor of Elizabeth Harrison and Mrs. John H. Couse, founders of the college. The Commencement week program will open with the annual alumnae meeting and luncheon to be held in Harrison hall Saturday. The business session at 10 will be followed by an address on "Problems in Child Guid- ance" by President Baker. Luncheon and class reunions will be held on the campus, the graduating students be- ing the guests of the association on this occasion. The baccalaureate service Sunday, June 5, will be held in Harrison hall at 4. Dr. George I. Scherger of the Armour Institute of Technology will speak on "Culture and Personality," and an excellent musical program has been prepared by the college choir and chorus. Tuesday, June 7, the students will bring between 200 and 300 children from the mission schools of Chicago out to the college campus for the an- nua: children's frolic. Balloons, ice cream, games and a band will be the | order of the day. The students are endeavoring to secure sufficient vol- unteer cars to take care .of the trans- portation of children from schools which cannot provide this, and Miss Howard, chairman of the committee, would appreciate it if anyone who is interested in assisting with this pro- ject would communicate with her. TO TEACH PSYCHOLOGY Dwight Chapman, Jr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Chapman of Wil- mette, will graduate from Har- vard university this June. Next | fall Mr. Chapman will begin as instruc- tor of psychology at the University of California, Berkeley, Cal,, a most un- usual appointment for a such a recent college graduate.
