This is the first district meeting of the Civil Legion in Cook county. District No. 1 includes all of Cook county, north of Central street, Evanston, and includes the villages of Winnetka, Glencoe, Hubbard Woods, Kenilworth, Wilmette, Glenview, Northbrook, Arlington Heights and other villages within the above boun- daries. All citizens of the District eligible to membership in the Civil Legion are invited to attend this meet- ing. Women are invited also. Officers will be elected and other necessary business transacted. Seventy-six members are already enrolled in District No. 1 of the Civil Legion. The Civil Legion is a national or- ganization composed of those who served in authorized civil capacities during the Word War. To its mem- bers it is what the American Legion is to ex-soldiers. Mrs. J. P. Fleming of 787 Foxdale avenue leaves today for Pittsburgh. After spending a few days there, she will go on to Wellesley college for her class reunion and to attend the com- mencement exercises. --O-- Miss Barbara Bartling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Bartling of 116 Fuller lane, goes to Ripon, Wis., June 20, to camp at the House of the Three Bears. Congregational Church to Present Diplomas Gold Star, Tomorrow This Sunday will be promotion Sun- day at Winnetka Congregational church. At the 11 o'clock service awards will be made of the Rudolph Matz order of the Gold Star and the diplomas of graduation. Rev. Paul R. Reynolds, who recently returned from China, will give the ad- dress. Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds and their two children, Bobby and Helen, who have been visiting with Mr. Rey- nold's parents at Iowa Falls, Towa, will arrive in Winnetka Sunday morn- ing.
