Revise Proceedings for Locust Road Improvement The board of local improvements Tuesday evening voted to revise the proceedings relative to the improve- ment of Locust road from Pine street to Westmoor road by instructing the Village engineer to prepare a new estimate for a bituminous macadam pavement instead of concrete, with adequate drainage, and to make pos- sible the closing up of the ditches. It is expected this second estimate will be received by the board at its next meeting and a date set at that time for a public hearing. Mr. and Mrs. George Shipman have returned to Kenilworth from a three weeks' trip through Maine, New York, and Vermont. They were in Washing- ton at the time of the Col. Lindbergh celebration. Kenilworth was well rep- resented on this occasion. E. M. Cole | was one of the special committee at the dinner given for "Lindy." Andrews of Evanston, is a member of the Chicago Art Theater group of players appear- ing to Evanston and north shore au- diences during Wednesdays of July and August at the Moraine hotel, Highland Park. The first performance will be given July 6, and the company's repertoire will include such plays as Halman's "Will o' the Wisp," Steele's "Ropes," Synge's "Riders to the Sea," Chekhov's "The Proposal" and "Jubilee," Mid- dleton's "The Grove," Gorky's "Chelk- ash" and "Passions, Passions," Kelly's "The Flattering Word," and others. Ivan Lazareff is director of the theater group. He is an artist of the Moscow Art theater and director- founder of the Maxim Gorky studio in Moscow. The theater's ultimate aim is to choose among the student artists in training a permanent pro- ducing company that will carry on the influences left in America by the Moscow Art theater. A summer course of study will also be in order. Miss Sunset Ridge All Set for Stampede Tourney Sunset Ridge Country club is all steamed up for the Stampede, the an- nual invitation tournament to be held next Tuesday. Reservations indicate a greater interest and attendance than in previous years.
