There were golf performances galore but the outstand- ing features turned up at Sunset Ridge and Indian Hill Jack Westland, who only annexed the Chicago District cham- pionship forgot his Blackstone long enough to burn up the course at Sun- set Ridge and in doing so shattered the course record. Westland registered a 68 and, in addition, by scoring a 74, won first prize in the 36-hole low gross event. recently Veteran Takes Honors George H. Leslie of Indian Hill showed that twenty-five years of golf hasn't dulled his game in the least by shooting 75-18-57. This card, the gross three strokes above par, included three birdies and won for Leslie an award for best low net.
