H., to a victory that {set a new record. The race was held | July 4. | Pitted against competition | known the world over, the Auburn | roadster, with Wade Morton at the { wheel, rode out a victory at an aver- age speed of 89.19 miles per hour. The race was run under the super- vision of the American Automobile as- sociation contest board. At the sug- gestion of the track officials the Au- burn drivers waived the 300-inch dis- placement rule, in order to admit to the contest any make or model car. The winning Auburn car finished the race in perfect condition, it is re- ported, apparently capable of contin- ued indefinite performance. | that is Photographer To the North Shore Stanton Wilhite 743 Elm Street Winnetka Phone Winnetka 210
