The Golden Text was from 1 John 4:7, "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is born of God: and every one that loveth is born of God, eth God." Among the which prised the lesson-sermon was the fol- lowing from the Bible: "Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and per- secute you" (Matthew 5: 43, 44). The lesson-sermon also included the following passages from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy: "When the human ele- ment in him struggled with the divine, our great Teacher said: "Not iy will, but Thine, be done !"--that is, Let not the flesh, but the Spirit, be represented in me. This is the new understanding of spiritual Love. It blesses its ene- mies, heals the sick, casts out error, raises the dead from trespasses and sins, and preaches the gospel to the poor, the meek in heart" (p. 33). citations com- Profitable Training! for the modern girl- HE one-year diploma courses and short intensive courses ofi- ered by this school are the most | profitabletraining the modern young woman could seek.
